Donna, Lori and family, i am so sorry for your loss. Verne and his family were our closest neighbors on the farm. He was between my older brother and I and they had good times tormenting me. They were also very good to me- let the little kid tag along. When Verne got badly hurt in an accident I was very upset and worried about "my Verne". It sounds like he became a wonderful man, husband, father, grandfather and friend. Wish I could have known him as an adult. He made a good life for himself and his family. So sorry it couldn't have been longer. My deepest sympathy. My sister Dorothy was also good friends with Doris.
