WHEN ON ACIIVE SERVICE IN 1960/61 AT MARIETTA GA, COL LONG WAS MY COMMANDER AND A FINE MAN WHO WAS RESPECTED BY ALL.
Jesse was a member of my Sunday School class at First Baptist. He was a fine gentleman who always had a smile on his face. He and Esther met when they both sat on the back row in our class. They were perfectly suited to one another, both kind and loving. We will miss Jesse and I send my sympathy to the family.
Rickie and I would like to offer our condolences to the family.
Jessie and I were ushers at FBC and were often at the same door. I had a lot of respect for Jessie. On occasion, he would speak about the war and of the "Billy Goat Squadron" and flying B-25s. He will be missed, but will forever be part of the Greatest Generation.
