Pearline Boyd WINNSBORO - Funeral Services for Mrs. Pearline Boyd will be held Thursday 2pm at St. John Baptist Church. Visitation is today from 2-7pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Pearline Banks Boyd, affectionately known as Pearl, was born May 2, 1920 to the late David Banks and Sarah Lyles Banks in White Oak, South Carolina. She was the second youngest of 12 children, and last surviving child born to that union. Mrs. Pearline B. Davis Boyd went home to be with the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 29, 2015 at Palmetto Health Richland. Pearl received her education through the public school system of Rock Hill, South Carolina. At age fourteen, Pearline joined New Hope AME Church in Rock Hill, SC. She was a long time member of Saint John Baptist Church where she served diligently until her health began to decline. As a member of St. John's Baptist Church of Winnsboro for 70 years, she served on the choir, as a deaconess and in the Sunday school. Pearline was just married to Lawrence Davis and to this union they became parents to their adopted son, John Davis. After Lawrence's death, she later married Dennis R. Boyd. Mrs. Pearline B. Davis Boyd leaves to cherish her memory: two grandsons, Benjamin and Eugene Davis and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and numerous other relatives and friends, all of whom will dearly miss her.
