So sorry to hear of your loss. Dick was a special person to my mom and could handle more than many others could with her :-). He was always kind and caring and I pray they are both rejoicing in heaven this Christmas. My prayers are with you & your family during this 1st holiday season without Dick. May grace and peace surround you into the New Year. Please contact me if possible.

Nana, we are very sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Dick was a very special person and we will always remember the good times we had in Calabash at the beach and pier and sitting in the rocking chairs on the porch at the ice cream place.

Sandra....I am blessed to have you as a friend, and blessed to have known Jim, too. Many peaceful walks after leaving work (from across the street) in your beautiful gardens, and rubbing the soft noses on the precious horses. A stress reliever for sure. Prayers for peace in all hearts. Love you. Sally

Dear Ames family, I have known Dick since I moved to SC in 1990 and started bowling at Anchor Lanes. I worked many tournament for him. I was one of many officers and directors of the CWBA, and he always went out of his way to accommodate the Association. He was the backbone of Anchor Lanes. My dear friend will truly be missed. He touched so many lives.

To the family of "Dick" Ames,
I was so sadden to hear of the loss of such a wonderful man!!! Until my grandfather died in 1998, he considered Dick his best friend and would even come and just sit at Ancor Lanes to spend the day there with him and watch the young bowlers (as well as bowl a few frames himself). Dick gave me my first job at Ancor Lanes and helped me to love the sport as well. Such a wonderful man who will be missed in so many different hearts and lives. May God bless you all and bring you comfort in your time of grief. Dick Ames, we love you and you are one of the best!!! Kaye Sigafoos, grand-daughter of Craig Talbert

My deepest condolences to you Sandra (Nana) and the family. May God wrap his arms of comfort around you all at this sad time and give you the strength to go about life without your sweetheart. I know things will be very rough for you, but the song "What a Friend We Have In Jesus" keeps coming to my mind as I type this, and I think that indeed, you have such a friend and He will be your comfort and your strength in the times when you are not strong enough to go on alone. God bless you all. Love and prayers...
