Wilfred W. Obright, Jr. COLUMBIA- Funeral services for Wilfred W. Obright, Jr., 93, of Columbia, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Temples-Halloran Funeral Home Chapel, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212. Chaplain Jerry Fonte will officiate. Entombment will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will greet friends from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Obright, beloved husband of 53 years to the late Anna Obright passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2014. Born in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late Wilfred W. Obright, Sr. and Magdelin Miller Obright. He was a member of Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church and a proud Veteran of the United States Army. He served as a Platoon Sergeant during WWII at Rhineland, Northern France and Central Europe, earning a Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star Medal, 95th Inf. 45, EAME Theater Ribbon, Three Bronze Service Stars and American Theater Ribbon. He played in a Bluegrass band at Seven Oak Senior Center for 26 years. Surviving is his daughter, Theresa Yeager (Michael) of Columbia; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
