Willie Reynolds Obituary

Willie Reynolds WALTERBORO - Mr. Willie Marvin Reynolds, 82, of Still Street in Walterboro, entered into rest Saturday morning, April 6, 2013, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. He was the husband of sixty years to the late Mrs. Annie Mims Reynolds. Funeral services will be conducted 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, April 9, 2013, from the graveside at Antioch Baptist Churchyard, 1843 South Carolina Highway 23 West, Edgefield, South Carolina. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral ceremony beginning at 1 o'clock that afternoon in the sanctuary of Antioch Church. Born October 25, 1930, a native of McCormick County, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Robert Eldred Reynolds and the late Ruby White Reynolds. For fifty-five years, he was employed by Coastal Lumber Company where he retired at the company's closing as a sawyer. It was through his love for hardwood, many will remember his devotion and talent with wood crafting. He was a member of Red Oak Grove Baptist Church in Edgefield. He was also an avid shrimper and loved fishing local fresh water creeks and rivers. Surviving are: two sons, Ronnie M. Reynolds and his wife Laura of Ridgeland and William D. Reynolds and Tammy of Columbus, Georgia; three daughters, Annette R. Lyons and her husband David of Walterboro, Benita R. Free and her husband David of Walterboro, and Debbie J. Rizzetta and her husband David of Irmo; a brother, Buddy Reynolds of Walterboro; and two sisters, Elsie Padgett of Boone Terre, Missouri and Lucille Ouzts of Edgefield. There are twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren that also survive. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy, Raymond, and Lloyd Reynolds; and a sister, Roberta Reynolds. Flowers will be accepted, or for those that wish, the family has respectfully requested that memorial contributions be directed in his memory to: Hospice Care of South Carolina, 134 Bells Highway, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488. For those that so desire, memorial messages and thoughts of condolence, as well as memorable recollections of Mr. Reynolds may be shared with the family at the online guestbook, www.briceherndonfuneralhome.com. The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Lyons, 1291 Rodeo Drive, Walterboro. Family and friends are invited to call from 6 o'clock until 8 o'clock this Monday evening at THE BRICE W. My sympathy to the Reynolds family in your loss. I have many fond memories of working and fishing with Willie. He was a good man. I'm happy our paths crossed back in the 60's. My prayers are with all of you during this difficult time.
