We are so sorry for your great loss. We loved Frank.
And will pray for you and his daughters often.
Frank was one of my favorite Cub pitchers growing up. He played the game the right way. I am sure his legacy and good nature will carry with all those that loved him.
I was in first grade with Frank. I smiled when I read that he was still the nice guy I new him to be. We graduated in the same class at Eastwood High years later, and though I didn't know him on a personal level, you could just feel the goodness and the integrity in him. I was always proud and thought of him throughout the years - he had still struck me even from a distance. I am sending much peace and love to all of his family and friends.
I was Saddened to Read Of the Passing of Your Younger Brother Frank...
I attended Eastwood High School with you and always thought Highly of you.

I got to know Frank a little bit first as a student and baseball player at Eastwood who was a couple of years ahead of Frank, and later, as a reporter at the El Paso Times. Frank was just a really good person and seemed like everyone just liked him and trusted him. I am sorry for his friends and family. May you all be blessed with peace and love during this time.
RIP my friend. I have lost a teammate, client, friend and my golf buddy. From our days with the Cubs to the training sessions to the rounds of golf , it was a pleasure to watch you grow from a young man to a great man. I was honored to be your trainer, watching you work tirelessly to make the best of your talents. Equally honored to cultivate our friendship throughout the years. I am thankful we got that last round of golf a month ago, to hear you bragging and beaming about your little girls. I was great to see you that happy. I shall miss our outings and our chats. May God take you into his peaceful home. I shall never forget. John
Joe and Gloria,

To the Castillo family my deepest condolences to your family from my heart... I had the privilege to play basketball with Frank when we were with the red raiders in elementary school. He was so quiet but I always admired his tenacity to play ball. He will be missed dearly!!! God bless you and god bless Frank forever!!!
Castillo Family, I want to wish my sincerest condolences to you all for the loss of Frank, I didnt have the pleasure of knowing him at Eastwood but his loss has made an impact to the entire community. May God comfort you all knowing that he is in Heaven playing ball with some of the great baseball players. My thoughts and prayers will be with you always!!
Mary Watkins-Slawson - (Eastwood High 1986)
I had the privilege to play baseball with Frank at Eastwood. Frank's control was truly amazing, his curveball would buckle batters in the box. Frank pitched a "perfect game" in a tournament that opened up our season in 1987. At any level of baseball this is an amazing feat. I was shocked when I heard the very sad news. God bless the Castillo family in these very difficult times. Rest in peace Frank.
Growing up a huge baseball fan, collecting baseball cards and loving to play the sport myself, it was such a thrill to know a real Major League Baseball Player. But if you ever met Frank out of uniform you would never know it. He always exceedingly friendly, giving and fun. During the strike season, he provided the thrill of a lifetime for me by pitching to me on Christmas Day. He just wanted to get some work in but it was the most memorable Christmas present I ever received. Frank also took time out of busy schedule to make a long distance call to my University of Dayton radio sport talk show. We had a very weak signal and not many listeners but this was so cool and so neat that I was beaming with pride for days. A Major Leaguer called me to talk sports on the air. He talked to me on the air for at least 30 minutes too!!!
Frank was a wonderful person and my deepest sympathies go out to his entire family. He will be missed and is definitely in a better place now.
Tom Bier (Tracy's cousin)

To my Tocayo,
I will miss you and cherish all the great laughs that you have blessed me with. You were the kindest and most genuine person that I have ever met. The memory of you daring my parents to get out of your vehicle and dance to Frank Sinatra in the middle of the Boston streets still plays out in my mind as if I were still there,(only you could get my parents to do that), thank you. You touched so many lives in a positive way that your memory will live on forever. You always remained the same person, from your time at Eastwood till your retirement from MLB. I am truly honored and blessed that you entered into my life and filled my heart with lots of laughter, joy, and love.
To the Castillo Family,
My sincerest and most heartfelt condolences go out to you. Frank was an inspiration to me and I am honored and humbled to share his name. Our prayers will be with you during this difficult time. My favorite MLB player will always be your angel of a son.

God Bless you Frank Castillo. You have many fans who will always miss and remember you. My deepest condolences to the family.................
To the Castillo family.... We are so very saddened for your loss. So very sorry. As one of Tracy's friends and their maid of honor... my husband and I had the privilege of spending real, quality time with Frank in Chicago, Phoenix, San Francisco, St.Louis and a wonderful trip to Italy. As we reflect on our time time with Frank, what is so striking is his humility through all his successes. He never, ever sought out attention ... signed every autograph with his memorable, shy smile. Frank will forever be missed but his work ethic, commitment to family and humility are the traits we remember and will keep with us forever.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of deep sorrow. God bless.
May God spirit strength the Castillo family, in this time of deep sorrow.
It's the bottom of the ninth! The Good LORD looks at HIS bullpen, and sees Frank Castillo. Finish this game for me the LORD told him. Frank finishes this "World Series" game for the LORD! Not only does he gets a world series ring, but the CROWN of everlasting life with the GOOD LORD! What outstanding performance he gave us. The city of El Paso gained tremendous visibility when Frank played Pro Ball. Thank You Frank. And to his entire family, our deepest thoughts and condolences. Our prayers are with all of you. My deepest and saddest condolences to the Castillo family on your tragic loss. I remember Frankie as a high schooler when Denise and I played tennis together. He was always practicing his pitching and it paid off. May his memories get you through this sad time. May God bless all of you.
I have been a loyal baseball fan for over 50 years. I remember Frank when he pitched and lost a no hitter in the ninth inning with only one out to go. I have read over 150 entries, over 16 pages of tributes to this special man from the entire country. His family will overcome this tragedy and feel what the world of baseball thought of this special man. May you rest in peace Frank and enjoy everlasting life with the Lord.

Thanks Frank for all you did for the Red Sox. To your family I express my deep sorrow in your loss.
I got to know Frank thru my cousin Terace. My brothers and I thought he walked on water. He always had time for us eventhough his obligations were many. Would you believe that he even allowed us to drag him to the park on Christmas Day to pitch to us? What other big leaguer would humor a few crazy teenagers like that!? Frank was a great guy and he will be missed!
Frankie lived a joyful life and gave all of himself to his family, his friends, and his love of baseball. His passing leaves our hearts heavy, but the burden is, eventually, lessened by the memories of the life he lived. Please know that our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
Frank I had the pleasure of meeting you before you graduated you played for summer league I remember. A conversation. We had you said it didn't matter what anyone thought I'm going to the show you were gonna go for you an your dad. I ran into you when you came for a parade twice after you you said I told you then when you were done you said I set my goal I met my goal now an always my goal will. Be my family I was happy to have known you Frank I pray your family finds peace. My deepest. Condolences. Our joke. From the movie the natural if they build it they will come.you can play with all the greatest Ball players now and feel no pain. R. I.P.
Well it seems that as many times as I say "no, no, no, no, no -- say it isn't so" in reality it is so. We can ask "Why" over and over but that won't change anything either. One thing I do know is that we have all been blessed to have known Frankie, to have grown up with him, to have followed his very successful life. He touched many lives and influenced many by living his short life to the fullest. I pray that our dear Lord give you all the strength to get through this very difficult time. May all his joyful memories bring you some peace, some comfort, and renew the love in your hearts for yourselves and for all of those around you that are sharing in your sorrow. God Bless you all. So glad that you have all been a part of our lives. You are a strong, wonderful family.
Mr. & Mrs. Castillo, Debi, Denise, Joe, Brian, Leslie, Jeffrey, Kevin, Jordan, Joey, Cadin & Camden, my heart absolutely breaks for you all in this difficult time. I cannot even begin to comprehend the sense of loss you must be feeling, the questions you may be asking, and the sense of despair that lingers at the thought of not seeing Frankie on this Earth again... You are an AMAZING family, whose love, support & devotion to Frank far exceeded anything I have ever witnessed. He was so blessed to have you by his side on his journey that ended way too soon. Please know that I am lifting you all up in my prayers---- for strength to get through each minute that passes, for understanding when things don't make sense, for comfort to be delivered to you by Christ & the many family and friends that love you and lastly, for a sense of consolation that you WILL indeed see Frankie again. Your Son, Brother, Uncle & Father was a very important part of my life & I will always honor the memory of the strong, noble, humble, caring man that he was, and the memories we shared together. I want you to know that I have heard from many people, from all over the US, who have reached out to share memories and want to send you all their deepest condolences. Frankie touched the lives of sooooo many with his gentle, caring spirit, and I am certain that as he walked through Heaven's gates, there were many of those faces there to greet & welcome him. I find comfort knowing that Frankie is now in a place where every pitch is a strike & every game is perfect—and though he doesn't need it, he even has tremendous run support. He is happy and at peace and is now there to watch over and take care of you all, as you so all so beautifully watched & took care of him.
In deepest sympathy,

Dear Frank's family, You were my family for so many years when I was a reporter for the Herald-Post. I was so sad to hear about this. Another Eastwood alum and friend of mine, Eddie Osteika, also recently passed away so to lose two great Troopers in the span of a year has really hurt me. Mrs. Castillo, you were always a ray of light to me and I think your whole family needs you more than ever. You're the glue that's going to hold everyone together. I'm sure Frank's daughters are cuties and I'm sure Joe's daughter is just as cute and wonderful. God has blessed us all that we got to know Frank for 44 wonderful years and that we have a promise that we can see him again in heaven. I pray that his wife has the strength and feels the love of the entire City of El Paso to move on and continue to find goodness and happiness every day of her life. These are the tests that God sometimes gives us all, and I know we will pass them. There's no better family on earth than the Castillos. I love you all and I always will. - Eric Davis (email@example.com)
Rest In Peace, Frank Castillo. My dear father who is in heaven watched you for years. He was a pitcher in the U.S. ARMY and was going to be drafted into the minors, but injured his knee parachuting. Dad will be in heaven waiting to greet you with open arms, as many will. May God hold your family ever so close as they lean into His strength.
THROW your burden upon JEOVAH himself and he himself will sustain you TO THEfamily
My dear departed friend, every day in elementary you would walk home with me so the dogs across the street on Schwood wouldn't frighten me. I never even had to ask, you just saw my fear and never let me walk home alone again. Your kindness was never for gain only from sincerity. I pray that your family find peace in this difficult time.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Frankie, thanks for the memories...Cooley Cougars, All Sports Club, 1987 Eastwood tournament with every scout you could imagine, there to watch you....God Speed.
Nothing is more painful then to see a young man pass away who I got to coach against during his boys baseball years at Cooley. I never will forget the first time I saw Frank on the night my team from Houston play Cooley on the opening playoff game when boys baseball was around. I had planned to use my 2nd pitcher but when I saw Frank warming up? I was in shock! My pitchers were great but we just couldn't hit anything that Frank threw. He was a virtuoso on the mound. He was a true role model for those who knew him! They should name the new ballpark after him or a school. My condolence to your children and family. You are now in Gods team! Miss you kid!
Being from Chicago and working with Frank's Dad at the P.O. here in El Paso, Frank's dad and I always talked Cubs Baseball and Franks Pitching. Great time. Our hearts are heavy for your loss. Frank will be remembered in our prayers. To Joe and the Family, our condolences for your loss.

Im a distant relative of Frank. I have always admired him even though I never met him. I've had his baseball card up in my room for many year ever since i heard about him. Frank, my father , my brother and I have many similar features. My sincere condolences go out to his wife girls and his family. It's wonderful to hear so much great stuff about this man. I will see you soon cousin.
Condolences to the CASTILLO FAMILY, may Frank rest in peace.
Thoughts and prayers to the entire Castillo family. Frank was the most humble and kind star athlete I have ever known. I was blessed to have been a part of the great '87 Trooper Baseball team. While God did not grant me the same talent as he filled Frank with, he always treated me as an equal on the field and off.
I remember during batting practice how he liked to mess around with me. He would be tossing perfect pitches to hit. Just when I was starting to feel a little cocky cause I was hitting everything he was throwing, he would give a little smirk and then blow a fastball by me or twist me up with a wicked curveball. Good memories.
I am grateful to have had a chance to talk to him at our 10 year reunion as that would be the last time I would speak to him.
He has touched so many lives in his short lifetime and will live on through all of us. He will never be forgotten and will be greatly missed.
May God bless the Castillo family.
To the Castillo Family, my thoughts & prayers are with you. May God bless you all during this difficult time.

My heart goes out to you. I was lucky enough to know Frankie when he lived in Chicago. It was fun hanging out with him and the other players. He was a great person with an infectious smile. I loved to watch him pitch and feel lucky I got to know him.
I played with Jefferson High, we played Frank and Butch in a very tough game and I can say they were the best dual pitching team we had encountered. We all were just glad that we were able to score a run against them. May you rest in peace and at least all your dreams as a baseball player were realized. Jefferson foxes class of 1988
