Sincerest condolences to Joan's two daughters,Deborah Leslie Dozier,Martita Pareja Calderon, and to her sister,Olivia de Havilland. As a loyal fan since '97, I never missed sending Joan de Beauvoir de Havilland Fontaine, Christmas, Birthday, Valentine,Easter, Mother's Day, and Thanksgiving Day Cards. She surprised me on several occasions by reciprocating postcards. They will be cherished forever! Joan and Orson Welles created a most unique romantic chemistry, for me, in Jane Eyre. She is a "Great Lady", who will truly be missed!

She was a friend of mine for over 35 years. What can I say!

Every time I watched a Fontaine movie a rose grew somewhere. I think of Orson calling "Jane" once your spirit arrived.

One of the last greats from the Golden age of Hollywood is gone-a woman with class, elegance and talent. From Rebecca, Jane Eyre and Suspicion to Maid's Night Out, you were exceptional in everything you did. How I mourn your passing. RIP dear Joan. You are gone but never will be forgotten.

And, when she shall die, take her and cut her out in little stars, and she will make the face of heaven so fine, that all the world will be in love with night, and pay no worship to
the garish sun.

One of the greatest. The only Mrs De Winter. So sad to hear the news. My daughter rang me at work to tell me as she knew how much I admired you. Your films have always been a great joy to me. You were so beautiful, real class.
