Sandra and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I played baseball with Joe at Suffolk and every year would run into him at the Beanpot. He was always smiling and so kind to all.
He touched many lives and will always be remembered as a first class person who just happen to coach baseball. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Warmest regards,

Hey Joe, Let me know if there is baseball in Heaven. And don't let me know if I'm in the pitching rotation! Thanks and God bless your loving soul.

I met Coach Walsh through friends at Suffolk. While I never played for him I instantly understood why his players loved him so much. He was a classic Dorchester guy who embodied the old school, loyal ways of the neighborhood.

Sandra, sending warm thoughts your way as you travel this difficult road. Wish we could all go back to Bantry Way where life was at its best.
Sincerely,

Dear Sandra and family: Thank you for selflessly sharing your dad and husband with Jake and so many other young men for whom Coach was a role model and mentor. There are two ways of spreading light, wrote Edith Wharton, to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it. The best of coaches, like Coach Walsh, are both, being themselves a shining example of all that is good about the game of baseball, and then sharing their love of the game with one's players who spread their own light. They are all a reflection of you, Coach. Thank you for giving Jake opportunities we never could have imagined.
