John Grzywacz Obituary

John Grzywacz, 69, of Archbald, died Wednesday at Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center while in the hospice unit.

Born in Archbald, on Dec. 12, 1948, son of the late Michael and Stella Zielinski Grzywacz, he was preceded in death by a son, John Michael, in 1996. John was a graduate of Archbald High School and served in the United States Army in the Vietnam war. He was a retired employee of P&W Washo Paving and was a member of Hricak-McAndrew American Legion Post 869 Archbald, Wozniak-Pavlovski VFW post, Eynon, and the DAV.

John enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a proud member of the NRA. He most enjoyed the simple things in life and spending time with his family.

Surviving are a daughter, Amy Ghirelli, Jermyn; and her daughters, Nina Rose and Natalia; and several cousins.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the VA Medical Center for their professionalism and compassion during this difficult time.

The memorial service will be Sunday at 3 p.m. in Harrison Funeral Home, 374 N. Main St., Archbald, with services by the Rev. Judith Schmitt.

Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Archbald Borough Veterans Monument Park.
