William Sansky, 53, of the Minooka section of Scranton, died Thursday at Geisinger Community Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jennie "Penny" O'Dell Sansky, on Aug. 22, 2012.
Born on March 12, 1960, son of the late George and Mary Walsh Sansky, William worked as a self-employed mechanic and previously worked at WYOU, Channel 22. He was a former member of St. Michael's Greek Catholic Church.
An active person who enjoyed woodworking, loved his antique truck and collected model trains, he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
His family would like to especially thank uncle, Arthur O'Dell, and sister-in-law, Karen O'Dell, for all of the loving care they'd given to William during his illness.
He is survived by his son, Chuck O'Dell and wife, Bridget, of Scranton; a brother, George Sansky and wife, Ann, of Dunmore; a sister, Patricia Townsend and husband, Paul, of Scranton; brothers-in-law, Robert King of Scranton; and Edward Mundy and wife, Cherri, of Chester, N.Y.; two grandsons; several nieces and nephews.
A sister, Regina King, also preceded him in death.
Memorial services are scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m. in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, by the Rev. James A. Wert. Interment, Marcy Cemetery in Duryea.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects from 9 until services.
