I hadn't heard from Betty for a few years, but we were in touch for many years after I left Barnet College and she came to see me here in Cirencester. We met when we were both about to start teaching at the college, formed a connection, and for the first few months until I moved to St Albans, she kindly gave me a lift to work. Betty taught Maths and I taught English, but we got on very easily and she was someone to whom I felt able to speak freely. I loved her endearingly eccentric manner and free thinking. Dear Betty, I will think of you often with great affection...I offer my condolences to Mary, James and all the family and friends, sincerely Carolyn (Frost, now Triance).
