It was my great privilege to have met and gotten to know Sid Bernstein over the last few decades. From book signing events to Beatlefests to sing-alongs at Strawberry Fields to concerts by numerous artists, some famous and some not, I would frequently see Sid. Whenever he saw me, his face would light up. At one show, he even asked his assistant to bring him closer to me. Needles to say, I was flattered. He was arguably one of the most important manager/ promoters in the history of popular music, and yet he was also one of the sweetest , kindest people that you would ever meet in your life. I would say that that is an extremely rare combination of traits to be found within the same individual.
