BURLINGTON - Mrs. Josephine Clark Hinshaw, 96, of 2221 Belmont Street, died at her residence Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 2:54 p.m.
A native of Chatham County, she was the wife of Virgil Clyde Hinshaw for 72 years, who survives, and the daughter of Vet Clark and Mary Newlin Clark, both deceased. She retired from the textile industry and was a member of Graham Friends Church.
In addition to her husband of the home, survivors include two daughters, Linda Ann Roper and husband Bobby of Graham and Nellie Benton of King; son, Clyde Vernon Hinshaw of the home; sister, Frances Allen of Elon; three brothers, Clyde Clark and Frank Clark and wife Mary Lois, all of Siler City, and Ralph Clark and wife Orpha Lea of Burlington; three grandchildren, Robert Roper, Philip Benton and Christopher Benton and wife Leslie; one great-granddaughter, Marisa Benton; and one great-great-grandson, Isaiah Benton.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Eunice Phillips, Alma Teague and Kathleen York; and three brothers, Jerome Clark, Ben Clark and Paul Clark.
The funeral service will be conducted in the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Tom Barton, with the family receiving friends from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the residence. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215 or to Graham Friends Church, 700 North Main Street, Graham, NC 27253.

Can't express how much of a special lady you were. You will still be our family leader as you watch over us. Glad you are in a better peace now, but I miss you. Your buddy forever. Love always!
