I am so sad in finding about the passing of Kathleen. I taught with her at Arabi Park Middle School years ago and we co-sponsored the dance team there. God bless you and your family during this difficult time. Kathleen was a great person and full of life and laughter. She will be greatly missed.

Many of Ms. Baker's former student have been discussing how much of an impact she had on us. Since it was too late for us to tell her directly, I came up with an idea. We've named it the Kathleen Baker Project. With some help from my parents (both retired teachers) and the Retired Teachers Association, we've set up an email address - kathleenbakerproject@gmail.com to allow student the opportunity to contact their former teachers and let them know how much they've changed our lives. From now until 2/4 emails will be collected by a member of the St. Bernard Parish RTA and sent directly to the teacher the message is for.
She continues to inspire us!

I had Ms. Baker at Arabi Park Middle School. She was one of my favorite teachers. I remember her classroom always having so much energy and excitement. She made learning fun, and she truly cared about all of her students. My thoughts and prayers go out to her friends and family. Thank you Ms. Baker for everything you gave to all of your students.

I was so sadden by the news of Kathleen passing. Donna and I will put you and yours in our prayers. I will always have fond memories of our time at PHS and Northeast.
I was so very sorry to hear of Kathleen 's passing. I did not know until Saturday night. I will always remember the good times we had in foreign countries. The one trip I remember the most was in England, where Kathleen and I roomed together. Kathleen laughed the whole two weeks of the trip because I had brought so much luggage!! I will never forget her smiling face and sweet personality.
I remember that too. We had so much fun in D.C. Ms. Baker was a great teacher and advisor. She was always able to put a smile on your face. So sad to hear about her passing. May she R.I.P.
She was my favorite teacher .I went on my 8th grade field trip with her to Washington DC .She made reading fun .she was one of a kind .That special teacher that made a difference in someones life.I loved her so much.
Ms. Kathleen Baker truly is an extraordinary woman and teacher. I am truly blessed to have known her and had the true fortune of being a student in her class. She wrote high school and college letters of recommendation for me and wrote me very inspirational and congratulatory letters when I graduated from LSU. December 31st might have been a little darker here on earth, but heaven certainly became brighter with her beautiful and smiling when she arrived! Prayers for her family here on earth!

I had the pleasure of having Ms. Baker as a teacher at both Carolyn Park and Arabi Park. She was one of my favorite teachers at both schools and I'm sure she'll be greatly missed by everyone that got to know her over the years.
Ms Baker will be missed so much. There hasn't been many years in my life that I haven't thought of her and the stories of her travels around the world. I had her as my teacher first in Carolyn Park and then again in middle school. She was always there to encourage us to shoot for the stars.
Ms Baker was a light that you knew would be shining brightly every day when you arrived at school, She inspired me greatly and I have always reflected back to her fondly, she and Ms Richard were always there with advise whenever it was needed. I fondly remember her silver leaf necklace she wore and the beautiful lady she was . Prayers for her family. Ms Bakers memory will carry on fondly through the students who loved her.

She was one of my favorite teachers at Arabi Park Middle and one of the first people who listened to some really difficult stuff in my journal at a challenging time for me. I had such hard times then and without her it may not have been possible to accept other support and change the road I was going down. I still use journalling to process my feelings today. Thanks Miss Baker. Such sad news. She was a light!

I worked with ms. Baker at Arabi park. I was the janitor there.
Ms.Baker was my Social Studies teacher when I attended Arabi Park Middle and I always said she was my favorite teacher. Than years later my cousin married her niece and I was able to enjoy her company at family functions. She is truly a special person and will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.
