Rebecca Payton Lyons
Graveside services celebrating the life of Mrs. Rebecca Payton Lyons will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 23, 2012, with the Reverend Stan Foster, pastor of Magnolia Baptist Church, Saline, officiating. Interment will be in Magnolia Baptist Church Cemetery, Saline, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.
Mrs. Lyons, 75, of Alexandria, passed from this life Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at her residence.
She was a native of Saline, LA and a member of Parkview Baptist Church. Mrs. Lyons worked with her husband, Don Lyons, in the radio and TV industry for many years. They were the owners of KWLA radio in Many until selling in 1981. They came to Alexandria to start KLAX-TV. Her father, E. A. Payton, owned Payton Lumber Company and Mill in Jackson Parish.
Her husband, Don Lyons; daughter, Lauri Suzanne Gaspard; parents, E. A. and Dallas Moore Payton, and a sister, Joanne Walker, precede her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Donna Luanne Johnson; son, Donald Edwin Lyons of Alexandria; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
