Alan was the nephew of my grandmother, Henrietta (Berends) Stary (Hetty) and I know my mother Beatrice kept in touch with Alan and told me about him. I wish I had met him.I did meet his grandmother in the 1950s. I will add what I know to the family tree (McLean family on myheritage)and as that tree was inspired by wanting to know more of war service I will record Alan's service with gratitude.
