I will never forget the day, about 20 years ago, when Dame Elisabeth held the door open for me as I was exiting Ansett Australia's head office at 501 Swanston Street, Melbourne.
At the time, I was Ansett's baggage claims officer and I was carrying two large suitcases to our repairers in nearby Anthony Street.
We chatted together for about five minutes and I'll always remember the kindness that Dame Elisabeth showed me that day. We are the poorer for her loss.
