Joe always had a good word to say to me when I was home from college and he was loved deeply by my parents Doug and Anita. Your are all in our thoughts. Phil and Betsy Higginbotham, Upper Arlington Ohio

Don and I first encountered Joe and Lucy Ann Straka when our two childred, Mary Ann and Patrick, arranged for us four - complete strangers - to be sitting side by side at a Miami University football game where the kids were students. When the two men, Joe and Don, both spotted the two culprits sitting across the field waving and both men started waving back, they looked at each other in amazement as the ruse sunk in. Across the field, the young couple were convulsed with laughter at their success. That afternoon was more than forty years ago and we have shared the mutual love of our Patrick and Mary Ann ever since and doted on the two grandchildren, Spencer and Rachel, the couple have blessed us with and share. Now Grandpa Joe is gone as well as Grandpa Don. That initial surprise meeting so long ago became a family tale Don and I reminised about many times. Joe Straka - husband, father, granpa and friend will be missed far and wide by by one and all.
