Hathaway Joyce Lee Hathaway, of Columbus, died May 4, 2015 aged 75 years. Joyce was born May 4, 1940, to the late Richard W. Halterman and Leona I. (Varga) Halterman, and preceded in death by her husband Bruce A Hathaway, and infant sister Catherine Louise Halterman. Joyce is survived by her three sons, Kevin (Scott Kustis), Christopher, and Nicholas Hathaway; brother, Richard D. Halterman; and several nieces. After graduating from South High School, Joyce began a career in banking, including employment at City Nat'l Bank & Trust (now JP Morgan), where she met her husband Bruce. Devotion first to her family, she also worked part-time at Madison Elementary in administration for approximately 20 years. Her own love of reading drove her to also work with the Groveport Madison school libraries, including organizing numerous development and fundraising events. In addition to her passion for literature and education, Joyce loved all animals. She not only cared for countless animals at home, but many creatures that made their way to her neighborhood. Joyce was a phenomenal cook, from traditional Hungarian dishes passed to her by her mother to her own creations, cooking was a vehicle to share her love with others.
