Robert "Eddie" Harris Jr., age 65, went to meet his Lord on Friday, Dec. 8, 2017.
Eddie was born in Forrest City and spent many years as a Tankerman on a tugboat along the Mississippi River. He was an avid reader and a huge fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks and St. Louis Cardinals. Fishing and golfing were his favorite pastimes. Eddie was also a faithful member of North Hills Baptist Church.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 13 years, Joyce; three sisters, Marleta Garrison, Geraldine Harrod and Jenny Lindsey (B); a daughter, Sara Menefee; a stepson, Michael (Katie) Holland and two grandchildren, Anna and Trey, who lovingly called him "Boomer." He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marguerite Harris.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to North Hills Baptist Church, 9618 Hwy. 107, Sherwood, AR 72120.
A memorial service was held at 10:30 a.m., today, Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, at North Hills Baptist Church.
