I never had the pleasure of getting to know Carole, but I met Lewey, and I know that he is a terrific guy. My heart goes out to him and all of Carole's friends and family.

I took every class Carole taught in the early 70's and also became a member of the debate team. The topic of debate was, "National Health Care" proposed by Senator Ted Kennedy. Traveling to other schools for competition was always an adventure . Practices were often at the Bright home in Eureka over a pot of spaghetti or baked chicken.
I'm sure the kitchen ceiling was never the same after being the official testing site for spaghetti! Classmates became lifelong friends who still stay in touch with one another and often reminisce about our escapades while on the debate team! Carole was such an inspiration to me that I earned my BS from HSU in Social Welfare and have become a high school Special Education teacher. RIP Carole, you paved the road to success for many young adults trying to make sense of a rapidly changing society in the 70's.

When I remember Carol, I think of her joyful laugh. It was full of life and buoyant with love. She brought much brightness into the world.

I had the pleasure of working with Carole often at CR and it was a double pleasure to have the office next to hers for many years. What I remember most about Carole at CR is that she always had the welfare of students, both individually and as a group, as her highest priority.

Carole was an amazing woman, gifted social worker, teacher and counselor. She taught the inaugural offering of the course - Death: The Inevitable Crisis - at College of the Redwoods and always cared deeply for her students... RIP Carole.
