I learned so much from Fred . His life was a teacher. He left so many landmarks. Fred paved the road for those who desire to adventure life in it's fullest. What an honor to sit at the feet of one with so much wisdom and knowledge. I count it a blessing o of been his caretaker/housekeeper. Miss you Fred!!

Fred had a huge impact on my life without ever really knowing it. I was trying to get a job at McDonald's to no avail. I sent a resume directly to him in a scented, lipstick kissed envelope. I guess he read it because when I came for my interview he had hand written at the top of my resume, "this girl has guts, find her a job." I did not meet him personally for two more years. One day he walked into the class at Hamburger U where I was teaching restaurant managers how to read financial statements. He sat down in the front row for awhile and just listened. After class he told me I had a gift for education. I remained at McDonald's until after my sabbatical, but never forgot his words. I eventually went back to school, got the proper credentials and am now Chair of a Business Program at an Illinois University. In his own private way he mentored my entire life. I will miss him greatly!

We extend our deepest sympathy on the loss of your father. We had the privilege of meeting him and your Uncle Don several times as we bought the house your grandparents, Hurley and Claudia, built in 1954 on Wakonda Court in Des Moines. We lived in the house from 1968-1993 and we did visit your grandparents in Marathon, FL. They were so proud of your dad and mother and you girls. They delighted in showing us family pictures. Since both of us are Drake alums, we always knew we had a second tie with your parents and were pleased Drake University benefited from your dad's generosity. Again, our deepest sympathy on the loss of your father.

Even though I only met you and Patty one time, your heritage and family have impacted my life forever. By having Patty Sue you gave me one of the dearest sweetest friends of my life.
Thank you Fred

As a freelance photographer for over 30 years, I had many chance to photograph Fred. He did much like he photo taken but was alway's game and was a good sport about helping me make a great image. I also shared the world of Muskie fishing, and for that alone he always had my respect. His vision and spirit will be greatly missed. No one cared more about the McDonald's family the Ray Kroc.
