I was priveleged enough to meeet Mr. Basilio a couple of times at his appearances. He was extremely funny and a great statesman for the sport of boxing. I'm 6 feet 7 inches tall and the first time I met him, he was looking into my chest, turned to his wife and said "If I were as big as this SOB, I'd still be fighting"! Truly a champion, not only in boxing but in life. He will be missed, and I was lucky to have crossed paths with him.
