It is still hard to believe that he died. I didn't know him very well but I believe his parents bought the house that we lived in in eureka. The house on E street. We just got reacquainted on line with all of his cooking things he was sharing. He was a really swell guy. He's probably helping our good Lord with mealtimes. Miss you John

John...it's the eve of the one year anniversary when you left us. Not a day has gone by that I don't miss you, miss your phone calls and Facebook messages. I miss your voice and your wisdom, especially your expert advice when I'm baking. I know I will see you again. Until then, I will celebrate your life with our friends.

John, I miss your humor, all the things you would conjur up in the kitchen and make a meal and share with us and I;m sorry you never got to drive in the National trucking championship but maybe being where you are, you will make it every year. You are sorely missed.

To the family of John. I'm so sorry for your loss. I've known your family a long time as your parents bought there house on E street from my parents. John befriended me on FB several years ago and we've been writing back and forth sharing memories of Humboldt county, eureka etc what he was cooking up, comments of my cookies and other goodies I'd post onFB. I am so saddened by his loss. Our son is just two, years younger than John many prayers to you and your family the world lost a really sweet guy. He was envious of our son getting to go to the truck rodeos after he won the place in Nevada. I will surly miss seeing him on FB and all his cute comments. I hope you're cooking up,a good batch of that stew you always talked about John. Sincerely, Nancy Wilson

Karen, I'm so sorry. My dear John was a rock for me to anchor to. he was such a wonderful person who cared about family and friends. We had a trip planned for this summer to go to Chanute and explore where his grandparents lived and where his mother grew up. I'll miss his calls and Facebook postings. I'll never forget his kindness to me over the last eighteen years. I loved him so very much. Aunt Nella

John was a very dear friend and was taken from us far too soon He was always friendly, kind and had a great sense of humor.Everytime we would talk he would always refer to the time when he was in college and was studying with my husband. All of the sudden the dogs started barking so john decided to go see if he could see why. While he was down under the apple tree, my father in law threw up his window and shot. Not long after, a huge bear fell out of the apple tree he was standing by and it scurried away. Needless to say he had a great story to refer back to. John made friends everywhere he went. It was like he never met anyone he didn't know. Even folks that he only knew online have very fond memories and kind words about him. He would help out and do things with the boy scouts and even brought his train whistles out to where we lived on the McKay tract.I am saddened and my heart is heavy because he was a great and dear friend who will never be forgotten. We love you John and cherish the times and memories we have of you.Rest in peace friend.

Karen, I am so sorry and want to send my sympathies to you and your family. I have known John for about 30 years from his employment at Joe Costa Trucking. I feel terrible that he had to experience such a tragic accident, it is painful to think about.
Sincerely,
