When I first met Mimi she told me, "you'll fit right in, you're as opinionated as the rest of us". As a teenager, when things got too crazy at my home, I would go over to Mimi's house. It was a very interesting place to be; educational, crazy, supportive and fun. Well, that and my then best friend and her brother lived there!
When I informed her that I was pregnant with my oldest daughter, her grand-daughter - she gave me her opinion. She was correct, but at the time we disagreed, but all in all that was not uncommon. :-)
I was not present in her last years; the actual miles between us, life was busy with work, three children and all the other things that keep people apart. It's not a very good reason, but it will have to do until I can apologize to her in person.
Shalom Mimi

I knew Mimi through an online Anlican community, which her quiet presence helped sustain (and how we loved the recipe index she created and maintained for us!)
May God keep her in His eternal memory and sustain and encourage those who mourn her loss.

Mimi will be missed. I cannot remember when Anglican did not have Mimi as a member, but I do remember she always signed off with "Shalom." Shalom to you, Mimi. Rest in peace, without pain and in God's arms.

So sad to hear of Mimi's passing. Although we never met in person, she was a wonderful friend on various email lists, notably St Sam's Cyberparish where she was in charge of the recipe page.
