To Walter and his family. Remembered you today this memorial weekend. So sad you are gone but also so grateful you are with the love of your life. You will be missed. I remember being so grateful we were still being able to keep in touch. I remember our conversations about loosing our spouses and knowing someday we would be with them again. I am so happy your wish is now complete. Say hello to my Charles - he was so much like you so full of fun, jokes and loved a good drink.

To Sandy and Walts family, I send my deepest sympathy.. Walt worked with me at Eureka Title. He was the best courier we ever had. Always a laugh and smile. Irene would bake goodies for us and he would bring them in just beaming. My favorite memories are ofcourse when he played Santa at the Gazebo. I always went for a hug and kiss and a candy cane. There was a kid in all of us when we were around him. Rest well Walt.

To the family of Walter Charles Pieper.
You rightfully don't know me nor I you but I did know Walter and am saddened to read the notice of his passing. I worked with him in the planning mill at Samoa when Hammond Lumber Co owned the operations. By happenstance Maudie was in the personnel office when I applied for work. She hired me as a common laborer at the going rate of $1.50 and a half cent per hour. Walt taught me how to tie the twine knot that held together the bundles of various patterns being milled. I remember when Walter and Irene and their family lived in Company housing in Samoa at the same time I was there with my family. I don't suppose there is many of us still around from that time. Now I have been gone from the north coast for thirty years but I still remember Walter-Irene-Maudie and again am saddened for your loss at this time of Walter.
A former Hammond Lumber Co. co-worker.

I grew up next door to Walt and Irene out in Carlotta and I will always remember Walt and my dad leveling the drive way.My dad put chain link fence on the back of the jeep and Walt held on with a rope to put weight on it and they droveup and down the driveway, I have a picture and it always makes me laugh. Rip Walt.

I will forever remember Walt's smile and humor, and the way his eyes lit up when talking about family. Seeing him always brightened my day. With heartfelt condolences, Ruth Johnson
