Catherine was one of the first people to welcome and befriend me upon my arrival in Victoria, back in 1980. She made it so easy to become great friends, with her wonderful outlook on life, and her caring nature. She was the type of friend that you just knew would always be there for you, and you could always count on. Although we had lost touch in our busy adult lives, I will truly miss her, and the wonderful memories of us hanging out 'back in the day'. We have lost a lovely, caring and genuine person, and Catherine will be missed by so, so many. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to her Dad, Sue, Anthony, Len and their families, as well as Glenn and his family.

As one of the CMA's in her 1997 graduating class and a friend ever since, Catherine was always a bright and positive light. She really embraced life and becoming a triathlete was just one example (sorry that I never fulfilled my promise to join you in one).

I will remember her in many forms - smart, hard-working, deeply caring, avid gardner, animal lover, fun, funny, feisty - just a joy to be around. Admittedly, I have not been in touch with Catherine as much in recent years, aside from email, and I have only met Glenn once. She seemed as happy as any person could be though.

My condolences to all of her loved ones. There are surely many and we will all miss you, Catherine. Thanks for sharing so much of yourself - your inspiration definitely lives on.

My deepest condolences to the Clarke family on the loss of such a wonderful and inspirational woman. I knew Cathy in high school and just reunited with her briefly this year by a chance encounter. I enjoyed keeping up with all her accomplishments in her life through facebook. She definately lived her life to the fullest. I will hold the memories of her close to my heart.

It was with great sadness that Cindy and I learned of Catherine's passing. I have many fond memories of high school days hanging at the Clarke family home with her brothers and Catherine and her friends 'annoying' us!!! It was always great to bump into Catherine over the years and hear about her adventures and to read about them on her Facebook page. Catherine lived more in her tragically short life than most people could ever dream of. Her energy and her smile will remain with us always.

Even though we didn't hang out as much as we did during our college days, we kept in touch via social media. I still remember when you came to get me when Canada won the Gold in hockey - such a great friend! I will cherish our memories together! You will be missed by so many! You always had a kind heart, especially for animals! Who else can teach a cat to shake a paw?! xoxo
