I forgot to sign my name with my last entry. I am Eleanor, the third daughter. I am so grateful people took the time to write here. I recognize a lot of names...Goddard, Dodds, White, my colleague Cathie Chase, and the Finlaysons...he (Norm) was our paperboy when I was little tike in Kamloops, then when I was in my teens in Victoria he became our family doctor! Funny, how life links us. I have another friend (Don Ngai) who was our paperboy in Victoria and later became an Engineer working for my father in Bridge Branch. Take Care everyone. Eleanor Elston
Thank you everyone for the warm wishes and memories. My father died very peacefully (from Acute Leukemia), exactly where and how he wanted to be: at home with his grandson Fraser Meyer at his side. I learned a lot from my father and I am especially glad for the time I had with him last year. I will always admire his propensity to do things they way you are taught, his expansive knowledge of science, and his sense of humour.
Condolences to the Elston Family. I curently work on Ministry of Transportation projects. I often seen M.Elstons signature on many Doucuments and Specifications still being used today in the Transportation and Highways area. His skills and knowledge in his work were valued in the past and into the future.
Our condolences to the Elston family. Our family met Mick's family long ago in Kamloops and would like to pass on our respects and thoughts on the passing of a fine and honourable person...
My condolences to the family.Mick and I were associates with the ministry of highways.Mick was respected for his resolve and engineering achievements and appreciated by those he mentored.
Am sorry to hear of Mick's passing, he was a great mentor and highly respected by his peers. My thoughts are with his family at this time.
May your memories of time with your Dad fill you with peace and happiness.
I will remember Mick for his technical honesty, his love of the law, and his infectious laugh.Thank you Mick.
my condolences to the family. Mick was a great mentor to myself and others in the Ministry of Highways. Much of what I did as a Provincial Approving Officer in Region Two was based on the lessons that I learned from him. He made us all better.
Eleanor, my condolences to you and your family on the loss of your father. A good Dad is a wonderful blessing and it is a sad thing to have to say goodbye. I am sure you gave him great comfort.
