The news of Bill's death saddened me. It was a pleasure getting reacquainted with my cousin during my visits with him in Victoria and when he visited us in Saskatoon. He was a gracious man who was filled with good humour, laughter and smiles. He will not be forgotten!

I never met your father but was sorry to hear of his passing.

Although we've known each other for a long time I never knew your father was once in the forest industry....my dad was too. I never knew we had that in common. We keypunched a lot of forestry work it's funny it never came up. Anyway, just wanted you to know I was thinking of you at this difficult time.

When I think about 'Big Grandpa', I think of his full mustashe and beard hiding the warmest smile I've seen before. My fondest memories include being so proud that, 'My Grandpa' was a clown with the most amazing invisible walking dog as well as when he would make the effort to fly his plane over our house while my brother and I would wave and wave knowing that Grandpa was up there smiling down at us. Our family was also fortunate to have gone on a road trip up island with Grandpa and share many fun times together. I used to love it when 'Big Grandpa' would come for Sunday night dinner and Mike and I would be watching outside for his shiny big car to make its way beside our house and within moments, to be greeted by our cheerful and gracious grandfather. I will cherish the times when Grandpa would have all the family over for a festive drink where we could admire his talented paintings, rifles and medals. He was such a host and always had a charming demenour that people easily gravitaed towards. We are all fortunate to have known 'Big grandpa' and I am so grateful that my daughter was able to meet her Great Grandpa last summer when she was 4 months old. Thank you for being such a wonderful Grandpa and I hope you will continue to smile down at us from above as our family continues to grow.
