Wish we could have been with you to mark the passing of Virginia. How could I have not known the fourth sister? The three dynamos of the Bawlf sisters I do know are so endearing and connected that Virginia will live long in them.

When you become friends with Patsy Peters, you automatically become friends with her sisters. Sometimes, I even felt like I was one of the sisters. I don't even remember when I first met Mindy but I used to joke with her that she was my sister from another mother. I loved our vacation in Manning Park where we shared good meals and wine, lots of hikes and good long conversations. We also spent quite a bit of time together in Toronto, meeting for coffee, going for walks in the beaches, and a night I'll never forget - seeing the Barenaked Ladies from the front row! We sang along to every song and danced our hearts out! We just kept looking at each other and laughing! I know we didn't see each other all that often but when we did it was always easy and always joyous. I'm glad to have known you, Mindy, and to have shared such happy times! You'll always be remembered!

In the 1980's Virgina asked me to marry her. I loved her, but my first love was French. So I went to Quebec City to learn French and Virgina accepted her first posting at the CBC in Whitehorse. For many years we remained penpals. Last night, I was thinking about her and discovered to my horror that she was dead. RIP Mindi

I was very fortunate, during my teen years, to be part of a very tight knit circle of friends, which included Mindy. Our group had so much fun playing, misbehaving, laughing and caring for each other. I'm sad that Mindy is gone, but so glad she had a happy life, successful career and friends and family who loved her.

Just had dinner tonight with sisters Barbara, Patricia and Alix. What an amazing family; we raised a glass for Mindy (and her parent Margaret and Leo of course) and reveled in so many fond memories, so many years, so many wonderful shared experiences. Sending love to Graham and our hearts to her sisters and friends far and wide.
