George Mitchell was a living legend in the Texas oil fields for nearly 70 years and he personally probably did more to innovate the production of oil and gas than any other living Texan before his death. Mr. Mitchell was also a tremendous humanitarian and a courteous gentleman, to boot. In my only encounter with him many years ago in an office building lobby, he surprised me with his immediate familiarity with my family business and activities. A nicer oil tycoon one cannot imagine. With deep sympathy and condolences to Greg, Sheridan, Kirk and the entire Mitchell family and their many friends, associates and supporters.
