Now that is a well written and true obit worth reading. My prayers to the family and my hat off to a man who lived life to the fullest.

Feel you were with us last evening at Pier 23, for the San Francisco Traditional Jazz Foundation gig. It was "our" kind of gathering; couple of glasses raised to you. Continue to be the guiding light that you are.

Godspeed.

Fred, I hope to meet you in spirit when I get to the other side. I don’t agree with all of your politics, and, alas, I am married to a man who does believe in your political views. And, I love him anyway. I loved your sons’ description of you, "he was often wrong, but never in doubt". I can feel your wife and sons loved you and will greatly miss you. Thank you for a wonderfully descriptive obituary. It is a solace to your family & friends and a smiling read and inspiration to those of us who did not know you in life.

Awesome!!! This is the way an obituary should read! Fred must've been quite a guy....so sorry not to have made his acquaintance!

Dear Fred,
I'm very sorry to hear of your demise and that we never met. Shirley we must be related!

RIP Fred. That's the type of obit I'd like, but I'd want my ashes put in a wine bottle and thrown in the ocean. Only way I'll ever see the world! I agree. Throw the bums out. I'll get ripped one night soon in your honor. Tonight's as good as ever! Cheers!!

GoneButNotForgotten says: If this tribute doesn't make you feel like living life to the fullest, you should check your pulse...Your time may already be up. Rest in Peace, Dear Fred ... I never even knew ya', but we are sure that you are loved, and will surely be missed!
