I learned so much from having Gracie in my class as did the children! She was a loved member of the MCV child care family. God bless you as you hold her memory in your heart.
Vicki and John,
I know that Gracie added grace and love to your life! Through her you grew in wisdom and passionate dedication and you share that with others. May God grant you peace and a firm understanding of all that you gave her and all that she in return gave to you.
Love Patsy Moon
The memories I have of Gracie have helped me in my many years of teaching. I still recall her crawling into my lap and laying back in my arms with the most delightful look on her face. She enjoyed all of the other children in the child development center at MCV and they took such good care of her as well. Her ability to communicate with a few looks and motions reminds me that relationships are grounded in our ability to listen and respond to others and Gracie modeled this every day. I have thought of Gracie often over the years and watching her grow and learn was such a gift. My heart goes out to you and John, I cannot image the loss you must be having at this time. Please stop by the center one day and sit in our memory garden and watch the angel (we hung one in her memory) swaying in the wind and listen to the laughter of the children. Love and prayers, Mary Thornton
Dear Vicki and John,
Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your beautiful daughter, Gracie.
You probably don't know me, but you may know my son, Kendall Duggan, who was a classmate of Gracie's at the Faison School.
I was so sorry to hear of your unimaginable loss. I wanted to tell you that I saw Gracie so many times when I was at Faison with Kendall.
Every single time I saw your daughter, she had a beautiful smile on her face. Her beaming, happy, joyful expression always made me smile and made me feel happy.
I know that your daughter made an importance difference and changed the lives of so many people -- so many you may not even be aware.
Please accept my deepest condolences on your huge loss.
Gracie was a force on this planet and she left it better than it was before.
With love and remembrance,
Kendall Duggan's mom

Dear Vicky and John,
My time with Gracie will never be forgotten. I had been working in Child Care for almost 8 years when Gracie started at the VCUHS Child Development center. And I fell in love with her the first time we met. She had such a beautiful smile and an easy spirit that drew the other children closer. I was thrilled to see how quickly the others children took to Gracie and often I would see them gently patting her back and the joy they all had when they would pull her in the wagon and find her sippy cup for her. Gracie's tiny sighs would let us know she was happy and content. Thank your for sharing this special child with me and the center. A few years ago Patsy was able to get funding for an Adult Day program at our center. These elder folks and the children soon became fast friends. When our first elder passed the children worried and wondered where he had gone. Many decided that the angles had taken him home. Over the past few years the children began drawing this angel and she is now looking over our playground. Under her wings are story stones written by loved ones who have lost someone dear. If you have time and would like to drop by and add your stone to the yard please let us know. I know I will be adding my stone for Gracie as soon as I can.
Deepest sympathies offered to Gracie's family. May remembering her bring you comfort. During this difficult time remember, "God is for us a refuge and strength," Psalms 46

Vicki and John, I am deeply saddened by your loss. Gracie was an amazing young lady. Cherish your memories. Thinking of you fondly.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Murrell's at this time. I was blessed to work with Gracie from 2005-2008 at The Faison School for Autism, she was truly a joy! She was one of the first students I worked with and she captivated me with her smile, laughter, sense of humor and her big personality and her hugs!!! God sometimes gives us people like Gracie for a short period of time but I believe she was one of his angels that stayed here on earth with us for a little bit and is now walking around in heaven! I will always love Gracie, her memories will forever be cherished in my heart :)
Vicki, I hope you remember me from your NICU days. I have thought of you and Gracie often through the years. I was so sorry to read of your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I met a smiling Gracie at RPES as her speech therapist. She always had a big hug ready! She touched many lives and will live in our hearts and memories.
may you be at peace. EARL F.HALL JR.
We first met Grace many years ago at a gathering that Dr. Wagstaff held. She was full of hugs and smiles. We saw her sometimes out in the community and again always had a smile on her face. We are so sorry for your loss and will keep your family in our prayers. What a beautiful soul she was and will continue to be - God Bless!
I still have the framed photograph of Gracie that you gave to me when I worked with her at Faison - I've worked, and continue to work with many young adults with disabilities, but somehow Gracie had a spirit that I really haven't come across in a while. I'm so sorry for your loss - and for the loss of everyone that is not going to be able to experience that spirit in the future.
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
Vicki and John,
I am so sorry to hear of Gracie's passing, she was always such a joy to be with. Gracie taught us many lessons in her short life. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
