Dear Paul & family,
Kay and I just learned of Garnett's passing---we found the news to be unexpected and immeadiately felt a deep void in our hearts. The warmth, encouragement, and kindness Garnett demonstrated to us when we first met was truly special and certainly a memory we cherish. We know her legacy lives on through her family and all those who's lives she touched. Be assured all of you are in our hearts and we pray that God's loving grace sustain you.
With Deepest Sympathy,

Such a kind woman with a beautiful smile! I haven't seen Garnett since high school, but enjoyed catching up with her on Facebook, and she was such a help to me in her advice on how to support a friend who had lost her son. She'll be missed all over the world! She and her family will be in our prayers.

Garnett was a true "doer". She got things done and had lots of fun along the way. I know my wife, Karen, Garnetts' cousin will miss her always, as will I.
Paul, you and your family are on our hearts in our prayers. I know God is with all of you. May He wrap you in His peace now and in the days to come.
I'll never forget your smile or the laughter you brought to me on the so many nights I needed it working at Ferebee's.
I am so very sorry to learn of Garnett's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you who mourn her loss.

Very sorry to hear the news of Garnett passing away. She was a wonderful person. My thoughts & prayers to her family.
Our prayers are with you. May the grace of God and love from family and friends lift you up during this time.
Garnett was a person that can be easily described as a force of nature without accusation of hyberbole. If you needed something to get done, you went to Garnett. If you needed something to get done well, and right, you definitely went to Garnett.
Our go-to person is gone and we feel that loss immensely. We now go to her in memories and carry on her light by using all the many things she taught us during her time here.
The most impressive of these for me was her unabashed ability to look death straight in the face and not be quieted by it. She made us all comfortable talking freely about Jake after his death. This helped me so much, as I'm sure it did others. I plan to honor Garnett in the same way, and hope that she is happy in heaven, where surely she has earned her rest.
Condolences from all of us at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Business. Garnett was truly an outstanding student and graduate, of whom we will always be proud.
Garnett was an inspiration to many and words would not be enough to express the lives she impacted. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend to many. Her love and dedication to her family and community is an overwhelmingly resemblance of the life she led. I feel blessed to have known her and she will be greatly missed.
Paul, I was so sorry to hear about Garnett. Peggy and I are heartbroken. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
I am so sorry to hear about Garnett. I spent a good amount of time with that girl back in the day. Paul, I know how much she loved you. My prayers are with the family.

To: The Gwathmey & Copeland Family,Life is structured in such a way that our entrance into this world happens without our consent. likewise, the timing of our departure is fixed without our input. Indeed, the appointment with death is one we all must keep, and one for which we shall not be late. our hearts were deeply saddened to hear of the untimly death of Garnett. In reading her obiruary, she live a wonderful life. We know it was a shock, but God never make mistakes. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and leaning not on your own understanding. It is our prayer that the lord will take care of you.
Our thaghts and prayers are with you all.
