I am so sorry to learn of John's passing. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. I knew him from the dance community and his joyful exuberance will definitely be missed. I can see him now with his black Zorro cape flowing behind him as he waltzed around the dance floor at a Halloween dance, his smile a mile wide! Such a lovely man gone much too soon.

I was shocked and sad to hear of John's passing. I know him through the dance community and whether dancing or talking his joy spilled over. Everyone talks about his easy smile. Its so true. That would be my first descriptor as well.

I was moreover sad to learn last night [at Zydeco] as numbers of us were sharing about John, that it was his nagging back ache that was really cancer. He never let on to in the last few times I had the pleasure of seeing him. I understand, but from my selfish stand point I wish I had known. I am just a fond acquaintance but I will miss him, as will many in this community.
My condolences to John's family.
