I had a wonderful childhood with my mother and father. NO DRAMA. I miss them both a lot.

Mr. Baird was there for me since I was just a toddler, many years. Debbie and I were at the house almost daily with Beth Ann and he always seems to be nearby, in the yard, at his shed, with a stern but safe presence. Every spring his yard burst with color and to this day I cannot see a snapdragon without remembering him. Each holiday, he would set up and elaborate train set for us to enjoy and we would watch for hours as the small engines traveled through towns, passed small ice skaters, and crisscrossed with each other through the small countryside.

I am grateful for my time with Nelson, which included many life lessons, for his patriotism and service to our nation. He was a respected professional, and a tireless, devoted leader of his household and family.
