It's hard to believe that Uncle Charles is gone. I don't have a lot of memories of him as a kid, because of my age and living far away from him. But I still can see him in my mind's eye. I will remember him with a dry sense of humor and that mischievous tilted smile. I also remember going to one of his races when I was young. It was a lot scarier to watch a family member out there, but it was also very exciting. He was our race car hero!
It is sad that his friends and family will no longer have him here any longer, but those on the other side are welcoming him with open arms...and one of those excited to have him there is my mother, Thelma Cachelin Bigg. I am glad that his suffering here has ended and he is now healed. Rest in peace, Uncle Charles. With love from your niece, Judy Gerst Nann
