Wayne Martinez Obituary
The family of Wayne Manuel Martinez is sad to announce his death on Saturday, Aug. 9. Wayne was born Dec. 6, 1948 in Capulin, CO to Della (Torres) and Jesse Martinez. He moved to Vallejo in 1970, after his discharge from the military.
Wayne leaves behind his wife, Donna; daughter, Alana Ramirez of Sacramento; step-daughters, Bobbie Mawhorter and Rachelle Cashen, both of Vallejo, and three grand-children, Brandon, Jessica, and Megan, all of Vallejo. He is also survived by his brothers, Jim (Sharon) of Vacaville, Chuck of Green Valley, John (Brenda) of Longmont, CO, Gary (Theresa) of Vallejo, and sister, Cindy Green (Pat), of Martinez. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
Wayne was a US Army veteran, having served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was awarded two Bronze Stars and the Army Commendation Medal, among many others.
A celebration of Wayne's life will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Clubhouse in the Carquinez Highlands Mobile Home Park, 150 Sea Port Drive, Vallejo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Wounded Warrior Project.
