WILKES-BARRE — Michael Dobish, 90, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on Sept. 20, 1923, he was a son of the late Charles and Mary Peresta Dobish. Michael graduated from GAR High School, class of 1941, and was a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps.
He was formerly employed by TWA, Maxon Electronics and worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 25 years. Mike's warm personality and ever-present great sense of humor were his trademarks, endearing him to all who knew and loved him.
He will be forever missed by friends and family.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Betty Fosko Dobish; sons, Dr. Michael Dobish and his wife, Jane Ann, York, Dr. Mark Dobish and his wife, Barbara, Chambersburg; daughter, Karen Thompson and her husband, Robert, Westborough, Mass.; grandchildren, Matthew, Elizabeth, Mark, Lauren and Bobby; great-grandchildren, Sarika, Caroline, Diana, Ned and Hadley.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday from the Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Church, Bear Creek. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Bear Creek. Relatives and friends may call 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Sacred Heart, 600 Baltimore Drive, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
