Timothy McCoy Obituary

Timothy A. McCoy
58, of New Philadelphia, died Saturday, May 25, 2013 in Union Hospital at Dover following an automobile accident. A son of Rose (Fisher) Barnish and the late Donald McCoy, Tim was born in Union Hospital at Dover on Dec. 2, 1954. Tim graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1973. In 2009, he retired from Greer Steel where he worked as a machinist. He was currently employed at Dover High Performance Plastics. He was a member of the New Philadelphia V.F.W. Post #1445 and was an avid bowler. Tim was the Past President of the Class B League at Boulevard Lanes. He enjoyed camping at Atwood Lake as well as golfing at Green Valley and Five Waters Golf Courses.
He is survived by his sons, Chris (Shannon) McCoy of New Philadelphia, Nic (Erica) McCoy of Dover and Seth (Raven) McCoy of New Philadelphia; his companion Kay Rentsch of New Philadelphia and her daughter, Ashley (Bryce) Sanatore of Dover; his grandchildren, Tyler, Lexi, Zach, Lexi, Bella, Kole, Kale and Kruz; his siblings, Terri Reidenbach of New Philadelphia, Beth (Scott) Donaldson of Concord, Ohio and Ted (Karen) Barnish of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; an aunt, Polly Thompson and an uncle, Richard (Barbara) McCoy both of New Philadelphia; his step mother, Joann McCoy of Dover; a step brother, Jim (Debbie) Herron of Dover; two step sisters, Tammy (Dwayne) Addleman and Cindy Herron both of New Philadelphia and his nieces and nephews. Tim was preceded in death by his father and a step brother, Kim Herron.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Tim's life will be held in the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2013 with Rev. Dr. Steven Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover. Following the committal service a luncheon will be held in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia. Those wishing to do so may send the family a personal condolence and light a candle in remembrance of Tim by visiting the funeral home website, www.geibcares.com. Contributions may be made in Tim's memory to the American Cancer Society, 525 North Broad Street, Canfield, OH 44406 or to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 1004.

Chris, Shannon, Tyler, Lexi and Zach-- I can't say I know what your feeling because I've never been in your shoes. However I do know how close you all were to Tim and that you are all hurting. Aunt Kay, Ash, Chris, Nic, Seth & families, our family has a heavy heart for all of you. Tim made me laugh and feel like a welcomed part of the family. I have fond memories of vacation with him, parties, camping. If I saw him out and about he'd stop whatever he was doing to chat. Just a good man. I will miss picking on each other. RIP Timmy!
