Donna Mowls
84, of Strasburg, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018, at New Dawn Health Care Center in New Philadelphia. Born on October 21, 1933, in Dundee, she was the daughter of the late Oswald and Awilda (Ray) Marchand. She was also preceded in death by her sister in-law, Bonnie Marchand. Donna graduated from Strasburg High School with the class of 1951 and was the editor of the Tiger Roar school paper. She was a graduate of Canton Actual Business School and a worker in secretarial and bookkeeping all her life having over 25 years at Flurocarbon, formerly Sparta. Donna also helped Bonnie and Dave at Valley Tan & Fitness, and Delores at Frenzel's Driving School. She retired from the Courthouse under Green Thumb. She was involved with the Woman of the Moose and was well known for her in-home party table, where she shared her famous homemade cookies with whomever visited. She will also be remembered for being a great listener.
Donna leaves behind her daughter and son in-law, Bonnie and David Jones of Strasburg; brother, Tom Marchand; two nephews, Thomas Marchand II, Tyler (Darla) Marchand; niece, Beth (Dan) Varner; life-long friends, Wanda Sanor, Donna Reiger, Patty and Tony Foster; along with her granddogs, Lady, Ginger, and Cooper.
In honoring Donna's wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover.
