i just learned about chas's passing. heart-breaking. such a wonderful man. smart, proud of his work and family, one of the few who traveled in political circles but never lost his focus. he helped me so many times when i floundered with the executive world, and, frankly, with life. such a warm and caring soul. please accept my belated condolences. he was a love.

I was a classmate of Charles's at RPI. I last saw him at our 25th reunion, where he stopped me to say hello. Just a great person. I am very sorry, Sam Cozzetto

We will all miss Chas! Sweet memories and esp his beautiful/warm smile have already flooded my mind. What a privilege and gift to have been able to work with Chas for years at HESC. May knowing we share your grief, make it easier to bear. God Bless.

I was sadden to hear of Chaz's passing. My condolences to your family. It was an honor and pleasure to work with Chaz at HESC for many years. It was great seeing him at lunch this past summer and enjoyed many laughs from our past. God Bless.

I knew Chas through NASSGAP and he was a wonderful mentor to me. As President during the 2003-04 academic year, Chas was invaluable to me when dealing with federal programs as well as federal policy decisions and legislative staff. Although I often felt panicked when trying to achieve legislative changes with a limited time frame to respond, Chas was always the calming voice to make things work out for the best.

He was such a great advocate for students, a dear and passionate colleague, and a great friend.

My condolences to the family. He will really be missed by all of us.
RIP Chas.

While visiting New York this past summer and having lunch with HESC friends it was a great surprise to have Chas join us.
With sympathy in the loss of your loved one,

Micheileen and Michael,
We are so sad to hear of Chaz's passing and know he fought the good fight because of the great love and care from you and Michael. We are blessed to have known such a great guy and will fondly remember all the laughter we shared through Porshe Club. Please accept our condolences from afar as we have been in Florida for the past week and only just heard the sad news. We send hugs and prayers, love, Jay and Kathy Smigen

I knew Chas as a wonderful, warm human being, a highly intelligent man of many talents. I met him at ACT when we were cast members in the most recent production of Inherit The Wind, and I was delighted to be spending stage and rehearsal time with such a gracious and talented man. I am sorry for all the pain of loss you are enduring, and I offer you my most sincere wishes for comfort and vision to continue your lives with Chas' memory and love to sustain you.

I worked with Chas for several years at HESC, and then he was a guest on my show, speaking about financing higher education. He was a leading authority in the state on higher education policy. Chas's sound advice was offered generously and always helpful. A classy guy, he went too soon. My thoughts are with his family.
