I did not know Chris but after this past week, I now feel like I did.. I lost a cousin athlete and best friend at 15 and will never forget the pain I and our family experienced. Chris sounded like a wonderful young man. You were fortunate to have him in you lives. I pray that all of the people Chris touched feel a special peace in their sole at this very difficult time. We are so sorry for the loss of your beloved son, Chris. We didn't have the pleasure of knowing him but my son Brandon went to Tesago with Jeremy. Please accept our heartfelt sympathy - we will keep you all in our prayers.

Our hearts have felt the pain you are going through when someone is taken from us so soon and so uexpected. This was read to us at our 3 year old sons funeral. May it bring peace and comfort to you.

This is a Poem from God to the Parents

“I'll lend you, for a little time, a child of mine,” He said
“For you to love the while he lives, and mourn for when he's dead.
It may be two or three years, or twenty-two or three,
But will you , “til I call him back, take care of him for me?
He'll bring his charms to gladden you, and should his stay be brief,
You'll have his lovely memories as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay, since all from Earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there, I want this child to learn.
I've looked the wide world over, in search for teachers true,
And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes, I have selected you.
Now will you give him all your love, nor think the labor vain,
Now hate me when I come to call to take him back again?”
I fancied that I heard them say, “Dear Lord, thy will be done!
For all the joys thy child shall bring, the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness; we'll love him while we may,
And for the happiness we've known, forever grateful stay.
But should the angels call for him, much sooner than we've planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes, and try to understand.”

To the Stewart Family,
We are so so sorry for your loss. Our son has fond memories of Chris from the Koda Middle School years and the Koda Ski Club. He touched so many lives. Our heart aches, and we pray for you all.
