In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it's the memories of you that are the most precious.

You have been looking down on us an entire year now. Not a day goes by when I don't think of you and your sweet silly self. I am glad your peaceful and at rest now. I hate that I am selfishly wishing you were still here. I know the kids and mom and dad miss you sooo much right along with all of your friends and brothers and sisters in arms. Your facebook page has been such a blessing for us all. Good night sweet Weenie.

To Emily's Momma, Daddy and family....I would like to send my sincere apologizes as I have just learned of Emily's passing...I was stationed with her in Germany and we are now stationed in the UK and don't often get stateside USAF news....Your daughter was a lovely young woman and always smiling and happy....we shared many crazy nights just hanging out and drinking red wine and being silly. Our time in Germany together was post 9-11 and we had to find happiness and laughter in as much as we could as work then was a lot serious....mostly we all found happiness and laughter laughing at each other. May my words act as a hug during this difficult time and I hope for if even a moment they bring a smile to your face as she did to all of ours...xoxox monica (former SrA Vaughan)

Emily,
Thank you for the wonderful memories in Korea and Iraq! You always brought a smile and laughter with you. Was proud to see you made SSgt and I know you could have gone on to the next rank and worked just as hard. You will never be forgotten! May God give your family strength during their weak times and comfort. May you rest in paradise! Love your buddy Nelly or TSgt Maccleezy as you called me
