I just heard of Dr. Lizzi's passing and am deeply saddened. My brothers and I were patients of his for most pf our lives, and I don't know what we would have done without him. He truly was one of a kind, and what all Doctors should aspire to be like. I had more respect for him than anyone I've ever known.
Ann Marie Andria, we miss you dad each day. Love, Cindy
My belated condolences to the family, being out of town I just learned of Frank's passing. I knew Frank first as a student, then later as a colleague. I can only re-iterate what many others have already said, Frank was the most dedicated and caring physician that one could ever know, and he was a great teacher. He will surely be missed.

Dr. Frank Lizzi was an exceptional doctor and human being. There are no words to describe all of the wonderful things he did for my family. He was the epitome of what one would fantasize what a doctor would be. Besides all of the illnesses he dealt with he was never interested in his fee.Dr. Frank Lizzi not only was a great doctor but a warm caring individual. Throughout his career he always treated his patients with warmth, respect and the upmost care. Dr. Lizzi cared so much about the health of others that he would often help those who didn't have insurance. What other doctor do you know who does that? His remarkable skills were only matched by his care and respect for his patients. We will miss this amazing man, and though he is gone he will always remain in our hearts not only as our family doctor, but a part of our family.

Love to you, our extraordinary Dad. Light and love to you and Mom.
So sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Lizzi. I remember him roaming the halls of the lab at St. Peter's early in the morning, and then seeing him still in the hospital late into the evening. He was so dedicated to his patients. He is missed.
Andrea and family, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. It broke my heart. He was way too young. I hope you are all doing ok right now and I am thinking of you during this very difficult and sad time. Your dad kept my Uncle Joe and my mom (Loretta Kelly) alive for so many years, beyond what any other doctor could have ever done. Your dad was the best!
Love you with all my heart. Missing you on this sunny Saturday morning. Give mom a hug and kiss for us. Thinking of you with her. God's Blessings. Andrea, John, Loughlin and Tessa's love to you.
I was sorry to hear of the death of Frank. He and I were classmates at Siena, class of 1961. He did not care for Physics classes but still did well. My condolences to your family.
Dr.Lizzi was one of the best Doctors Albany has ever had. Every medical student should have had to shadow him to learn the compassionate side of medicine. I know his family went without his presence many times but with that I hope they know that he was tending to someone much less fortunate. He is a legend in my eyes.
I just sadly learned of the death of my cousin, Frank. I have many pleasant childhood memories of playing with him, especially at Christmas, and enjoyed his talents with his train set. He spent his life dedicated to finding answers to very perplexing questions. May God reward him for a lifetime of hard work for others. My special sympathies, Joe and John, and to Frank's daughters.
Andrea, my very Deepest Sympathy goes out to you and your sister. He is in good hands walking with your mother. Carolyn
My condolences to his family.
Back in the early to late 70's, when I worked in the chemistry lab, Dr. Lizzi would come in, through the back entrance, just past 5 p.m. when we stopped doing PF1 and 2's. He would stand at the receiving table, req and red top tube in hand and say STAT. I would get up and go over to him and say "Dr. Lizzi, now you know we don't do PF1 and 2's stat and we stop running these after 5 p.m. BUT if you like, I can change the PF1 to a Glu, Bun and Lytes." See, it was a game we played, he and I. What a sense of humor Dr. Lizzi had and what a compassionate doctor and man he was to his patients, often times, at their bedside long past the time most doctors would, ensuring they would be all right.
We shall not soon see the like of such a physician.
God Bless you, Dr. Lizzi.
God bless you and your family.
I would like to say that I am very sorry for your lose. Dr. lizzi was a very wonderful man that has insired me to make the most out of life, and that you can be all you want to as long as you deicated yourself fully.
Dr. Lizzi was a teacher of mine, at Branford Hall Career institute, in Albany NY. Dr. Lizzi was an amazing teacher, he had such a wealth of knowledge, and it was an honor for me to have been a little part of such a great mans life! My prayers and thoughts are with his family, his friends, and other collegues and students, such as myself- you will truely be missed DR LIZZI
My sympathy goes out to Dr. Lizzi's family. I recently had the honor of being a student of his at Branford Hall. He taught me so much and thanks to him, I have such an interest in cardiology. He will be sadly missed-his smile and greetings every time we'd run into him. I'm so thankful to have had the priviledge to be his student.
Andrea, Ann Maria, your dad was an angel on earth as a doctor and human being.
His commitment and dedication towards his patients and his profession was unmatched. I met him when I was a child and he told my grandfather how much he wanted to be a doctor. His work with Families In Need of Assistance.Inc was just unbelievable. His support for each client was remarkable. He met each patient at the emergency door with a wheel chair and stayed with them till they were settled. He fought for what he believed in. You should be so proud he was your dad. He is with the Lord watching over you forever. Love, Cindy
Andrea, Ann-Marie and family,
My deepest sympathies. I'll remember Dr. Lizzi with fondness.
I am sorry to hear about Dr. Lizzi he was my doctor for many year. He had a greatness to him that many doctor don't have. My God bless your family
My sincere condolences in your loss to this most excellent man. I had the privelage to work with Dr. Lizzi for many years as a nurse on an oncology unit, and while most physicians devote their lives to their patients, Dr. Lizzi still went way above the call of duty and did much more than anyone could expect. He as equally kind and considerate of nurses and hospital personnel. For me, it was an honor and privilege to work with this excellent man. He was truly a saint and the best of men. I grieve for your loss
Frank Lizzi and I met in kindergarten. We went through grammar and high school together. Few classmates came to know Frank very well; not because he was unfriendly, but because he was always working, studying and showing good example. In my lifetime, I don't recall meeting a more industrious, dedicated, selfless person.
Over the years, I may have bumped into Frank 4 or 5 times. On one occasion at St. Peter's hospital, he found out I was visiting my mother. He had never met her, but made a point to stop in her room the next day. Well, she couldn't wait to tell me how much that visit meant. He told her he had spoken to the head nurse, he had instructed the staff at the nurses' station and relayed to all just how crucial her comfort and her stay at St. Peter's was to him.
I didn't realize it was possible to make someone hooked up to monitoring machines feel so special, so important and so great. Anonymously and without a dimes worth of compensation, Dr. Frank Lizzi did it. He was a man of integrity and the highest standard of values. A prescription for friendliness and good example.
Dr.Lizzi's Family,In this day,in this fast moving world,it is very rare to find someone with such patience, humor,
intelligence and generosity of time and spirit.Dr.Lizzi was a wonderful doctor and an exceptional human being. He will be sorely missed. Thank you Dr. Lizzi.God Bless you. Kitty Doherty

I'm sorry for your loss. I was fortunate to have him as a teacher at Branford Hall. He was a wonderful person. I will keep him in my prayers.
I remember Dr Lizzie back when I worked the pediatric unit in St Peters in the 1990s. He was there at all hours day and night. He never had an unkind word about anything- Truly a one of a kind. He will surely be missed by all- Deepest condolences to all his family.
I was very sad to see the obituary for Dr. Lizzi. I did not know him well, but in 1954 he and I were among the violin students of Ford Hummel in Albany. Frank was an outstanding, talented young violinist, and I remember how I envied his ability. We were both in recitals that Ford Hummel presented at the Woman's Club at 725 Madison Avenue in Albany. I had not seen him since those days, and he probably would not have known me, but I will never forget how he played the violin.
The kindness compassion and dedication Dr. Lizzie had for his patients always amazed me. He will be missed.

To Dr. Lizzi's Family, I'm sorry for the loss of your Father. I was his patient for a long time. He was kind and a wonderful person. He will be missed. God Bless You
To the Family of Dr. Frank Lizzi, I've never met a more devoted physician, Dr. Lizzi would care for his patients long after hours. One time, when I shared an elevator with him, I noticed he had a sandwich in one of his pockets, I believe it was because he didn't have time to sit for a meal. When I mentioned the sandwich in his pocket to a nurse, she told me he put his patients' needs before his own. A wonderful patient advocate, he will be missed.
As an RN, I had many opportunities to witness Dr. Lizzi's compassion and dedication. From early in the AM until late into the PM, he could be found making rounds on his patients. May he enjoy his eternal reward with God.
Dear Lizzi Family,
