Williams, Kerstin Suzanne NASSAU Kerstin Suzanne Williams, 27, of Nassau died on Sunday, June 29, 2014. Born on October 31, 1986, Kerstin was a life-long resident of Nassau. She graduated cum laude from Catholic High School (Lansingburg) and went on to study at the College of St. Rose where she graduated in 2008 with a degree in criminal justice. Kerstin wanted to follow in the footsteps of her uncle Roger Williams, and pursue a career in law enforcement. She scored in the top of all candidates on the New York State Trooper Entrance Exam. Kerstin was accepted into the first class of recruits following a multi-year hiring freeze and was sworn in as a New York State trooper in October 2012. She was assigned to Troop F in Liberty. She received her uncle Roger Williams shield number. Kerstin was passionate and dedicated in everything she did. In addition to her work as a New York State trooper, Kerstin enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her younger cousins, and her many close friends. Her dedication to family and friends was surpassed only by her love of her work as a trooper. Kerstin is survived by her parents, Diane and Robert C. Williams, Jr. of Nassau; a brother, Charles (Ashley) Williams of Sykesville, Md.; grandparents, Grace Hans and Robert (Ellie) Williams, Sr.; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Calling hours will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Holy Spirit Church, 667 Columbia Turnpike, E. Greenbush. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Trooper K. S. Williams to the New York State Police Benevolent Association Signal 30 Fund, 120 State St. Albany, NY 12207 or to the Holy Spirit School, 57 Highland Drive, E. Greenbush. To Bobby and Family,
We just learned today of the loss of your daughter. We were devastated when we heard the story but even more devastated today learning who she was the daughter of. It seems like yesterday Bob and Roger we're growing up as neighbors. Your loss is especially sorrowful for us having known you Bob and with Matt being a retired Trooper and having worked with Roger so many years ago. You will all be in our thoughts and prayers and may your suffering and pain lessen with time. God bless you all. RIP Trooper Williams.
