We were privileged to meet Cynthia through Ben, our son
You see he married her granddaughter, Adrienne, her only one
These two shared a special bond,it was written on their faces
Conversations with Cynthia always took you to many places
She was a people person, and curious as a cat
She wanted to know the why and how of this and that
Her family and friends were very precious to her
She will be dearly missed by all, we are sure
Her interest and love of children comes as no surprise
When great grandson Judah spoke parting words, she briefly opened her eyes
We remember how she remarked about great grandson Simon's blueberry eyes
What a joy it will be when she sees them again in paradise
See you there
Our sympathy and love to the Parks family

God Bless Cynthia Parks and her family. We felt her presence during her memorial service today. God has a special place for her. What a legacy she left within the hearts of her family.

Cynthia's spirituality was as deeply embedded in her as her connection to the land and the family that nurtured her—her roots. And God gave her a rare gift, a genuine interest in people and their stories. With her ability to connect with individuals, she broadened her scope, and gave a voice to some, who may not have been heard. For her, words flowed as from a finely-tuned instrument.
She was engaged, so you became involved, too, whether you were reading her newspaper feature stories or having a face-to-face chat. Those eyes would sparkle, and as her enthusiasm would build, you would be right there with her in the moment.
I remember a day when Adrienne brought her newborn son to see Cynthia. The little guy was having a miserable day, so Cynthia quietly, gently took his hands in hers, looked into his eyes, and started to talk to him. When his eyes locked with hers, he quieted, visibly relaxed, mesmerized. So, age made no difference, Cynthia knew how to listen and connect.
Strong, perceptive, curious, philosophical, intelligent, loving Cynthia, full of grace, we shall miss you.

A few months ago, I came across a cutting of the column she wrote on the "Great Bicycle Race" we cousins organized on your visit to Wisconsin back in the '60s. I will always be grateful to Cynthia for writing that; I am also grateful for the many silent reminders of her generosity (and of Aunt Carol's) scattered around my house and yard now. She will always be missed.

What a unique, talented, fun lady she was! With as many ways we came into contact with each other, the only place we met was in Publix. She gave me a delightful cookbook as a wedding present, and we joked about so many things. But then Bob Parks died,
all her spark was gone. I hardly ever saw her again, and I missed her greatly. No days came as fun as with Cynthia Parks. And now she will bet to see her husband, and tell him what went on her at home in her whimsical way. I will miss her a lot. God bless!
