Our friendship endured for more than sixty five years. We grew up as youngsters, teenagers, shared military experiences, met and befriended and married the loves of our lives , had beautiful families and enjoyed each others company and had successful and satisfying careers. We should be happy to have had such a great life. But our hearts are saddened by the loss of his warm smile, the comfort that emanates from his presence, the little chuckle. He radiated goodness and comfort in the same manner as did his father. He was always humble in the manner of his parents Mary and John. He was the guy next door from a blue collar neighborhood who rose to become a true leader. He did so for the good of his fellow man and not for personal gain. He would give you the shirt off his back ( and the grapefruits off his lawn). We are fortunate to have the pleasure of our friendship. I will miss Jack deeply. He was and always will remain my friend.
