Imma miss you Mr.King. Hope you have a good afterlife with your wife.
i've been sitting by the fireplace in the same room where you were born on Sunday March 10,84 years ago.across the hall by the phone the calendar reminds me to call you. 84 years ago the fires were burning in 2 other rooms and grandmother and her sisters were baking cakes . the gentlemen were gathered on the porch sharing cigars and stories. everyone said you were beautiful and special.so did the newspaper.you were voted the prettiest boy baby.23 years later you came home to visit. wearing army clothes . you told me we were going for a ride. you set me up on a board in the barbers chair for my first haircut.after that i always hid when someone said Sonny was home. Butch told me that i needed to let it go.that i could trust you. he said that you would never let me down, you would always be here for me. so another 20 years later and i'm watching you across the table and i realize how loyal you've always been.the elders all said that you were special and now the young people were saying it too. we won't be calling on birthdays anymore but i've got 66 years that i was able to share with you.and they were really special.
Rest in peace, Uncle Tom. You were a wonderful man who touched so many. Your love and smile will not be forgotten by me. Love you

Uncle Tom recently came to my father's funeral and we so appreciated him taking the time to attend. He was a lifelong friend to my Father, Edward L. Green, and an outstanding friend to our family. Thoughts and prayers to the family and so very sad we missed the funeral. May he rest in peace.
Tom & Peggy were also life long friends with my dad (also a firefighter), step mom and my mother.I will miss him as well. May he rest in peace. I pray for peace for Laura and Tommy and their families.
The brightness from your candle of life will live on in the many, many lives you have touched. U R Loved & Missed!
Thirty Seven years ago this month I shed tears for the loss of my father. I find myself doing the same with the loss of UT, though the difference being some are tears of joy for having had the opportunity to experience the love of a second father. Tom (and Peggy) were a great influence on my life as with many others. I will always cherish the memories and friendships whether it was at the fire station and supply warehouse on Talleyrand, the many road trips with the Provost Guard or visiting with his many friends who loved him dearly and extended the same to me.
He will be missed by many, whether you knew as Tom, Sonny, Dad, Uncle Tom or "Brother".
He exemplified a true good heartedness and the ability to be trusted which is evidenced by his comradeships established as military man, a fireman, a Masons and a Shriner.
I will miss him as I loved him dearly but am comforted knowing he is in the hands of the Great Architect of the universe.

Tom was a great friend and shriner. He would push you to do more than you thought you could and help if you fell a little in pursuit of the mission. My prayers go out to Tom's family here on earth as Tom will be missed here, but friends already in heaven will be busier now that Tom is there.
